SUMMARY:Sourdough for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Grab your aprons and get your appetite ready to learn about how to bake sourdough!  Erin Carroll\, former professional baker and culinary school graduate\, will lead you through the basics of growing and maintaining your own sourdough starter.  She will also cover how to create mouthwatering sourdough recipes\, with samples!  Bring your own small container to take home some sourdough starter of your own.  No need to register for this free event. She worked at a small\, 100% from-scratch bakery\, laminating croissant and Danish dough entirely by hand; contributed to large-scale production at the Minneapolis Convention Center\, serving plated desserts to events of up to 5\,000 guests; collaborated with an executive chef to develop recipes and execute menu rollouts; and worked in the pastry department at Carleton College in Northfield\, MN.\n–\nShe now lives in Eagle River with her husband and their two children. SUMMARY:May Cookbook Club
DESCRIPTION:May’s Cookbook | Familia: 125 Foolproof Mexican Recipes to Feed Your People by Marcela Valladolid \nDo you love food? Join the book club that involves eating\, recipe sharing\, and fun! Check out the book\, pick a recipe to prepare and meet at the library for a potluck dinner party hosted at the library. You bring the food and conversation\, we supply everything else. Come hungry\, there is plenty to eat! New members always welcome to join. \nFAQs \n\n\n\n\nWhere do I find the book? The selected book is available at the library’s front desk to make photocopies or check out.  There may be other cookbooks by the same author or alternative cookbooks with the same type of food available as well. \n\n\nDo I have to bring a dish to share? No\, but it is very much encouraged. The more recipes to share and discuss\, the more fun. \n\n\nMay I make a recipe not from the selected book? Yes. We encourage you to use the chosen book\, but do not feel pressure if you are not able to. \n\n\nDo I have to follow the recipe exactly? No! Use substitutions as you see fit\, but PLEASE inform everyone in case of allergies\, food aversions\, etc. \n\n\nI have a food aversion or allergy\, can I still come? Yes! Although there may be food that isn’t a part of your diet there will be plenty of conversation and fun for all. \n\n\nWhat else do I need to bring? The library provides plates\, napkins\, serving utensils\, power outlets\, microwave\, and most other neccesities. \n\n\nHow do I know that someone won’t make the same dish as me? That is a risk that we will just have to take. Sometimes dishes may be duplicated\, but that is okay.
