Interlibrary Loan (WISCAT)
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service for library patrons to have access to items that are not owned by the Minocqua Public Library or any other library in the V-CAT system. The resource that is commonly used to fill these requests is WISCAT. WISCAT is a shared catalog that looks for items in public, school, academic, and special libraries across Wisconsin.
Things to know before placing requests:
- Placing requests does not guarantee that a library will agree to loan items.
- Items that cannot be requested:
- Any new materials, up to a year
- Items currently in high demand
- Fragile materials such as music records, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes
- E-materials
- Any ILL items requested through the Minocqua Public Library must be picked up and returned here.
- If you would like to request a renewal for any ILL items, please contact us before the original due date. A renewal request does not guarantee it will get an extended due date. It is up to the owning library if a renewal will be granted.
- If you are not able to locate an item in WISCAT, you are able to fill out a form for a blank request. Fill this form out with as much information as possible. Staff will do their best to find this item.
